Spanky weekend ideas

Thinking out loud here. Looking for feedback.

I've been thinking about trying to get a Whitby style thing going again for 2025.


The three options I'd be looking at would be the cottages we normally use at Whitby, a similar arrangement further south - maybe the Gower coast, or (thanks to MW for the suggestion) renting a National Trust or large house for a long weekend at a location which more people can reach.

I can't do it alone, and others would have to step in to help run it. Bur I can provide organisation skills etc.

I may do this as a poll in due course. Bur am looking to see if there's any demand, what you guys would want, and who could help run it.

Downside of Whitby for me is that there's no way I could attend in person.

But the upside of Whitby is that it's Whitby. The venue owners know and approve of our kind of fun. And you guys always enjoy it. It's like our unconventional convention.

If there is.no interest then that's fair enough. But it would be a shame to let such a great thing as the Whitby weekend die on the vine.

Let me know what you think. No restrictions on different ideas and options. One option is opening it up to FetLife to make it.ecomonically viable.

This sounds great and I would definitely be interested in any of the venues suggested. I’m not a fan of travelling distances for a one day event, so I was disappointed when the proposed Whitby long weekend was cancelled. So, anything along similar lines would be very welcome.

I’m more than happy to help with arrangements, things like going up the day before/back the day after for practical jobs.
