How did we find out we had this interest?

I've sort have always known I liked different things but the spanking and caning came from a film called "tom sawyer" i think back in the 70s, he takes the cane in front of the whole class for a girl who was passing notes and got caught, she was visibly shaking, Excellent scene, I was mesmerised, I've sought out fetish films ever since even going to spanking parties as a switch.
