Chat Room Rules. Serious Discussion

Now that we are growing as a community we need to establish a few ground rules. I had hoped we could get along with just the one rule, Don't be a d#ck.

Now it's time to create some rules so we nall get along.

I'm throwing this out to you. Can you suggest any rules which mean we go forward together rather than fight like kids?

I'll keep this thread open until Sunday. Then I'll draw up the list of rules from your suggestions.

This is a serious thread, so please take this seriously.

This is a really important thread - thank you.

Can we have an 'absolutely do not give any information about anyone else' rule? I've already seen some mean breaches of confidentiality.

I'd also be glad of a 'no discriminatory language - homophobia, transphobia, racism, or anything allied that I haven't thought of yet' rule

'The moderators decision is final (don't whine to me about it - I don't care)' is always a must have rule. It's one of those unsaid rules that surprisingly needs to be made explicit. Also, the admin gets a host of 'such and such unfairly banned me' mail if it isn't made so.

Unsurprisingly I agree with Candice's suggestions, but in the matter of her second point, I'd like a proposal that's a bit more concrete and enforceable so the mods aren't left guessing about whether it reaches the threshold, but then I guess we could see my first point.

I like all the suggestion above and wonder if it may be worthwhile to add a little note of advice especially for those who have never used a chat room before? E.g.
Consider carefully before you disclose your last name, email address, home address or telephone number. I know it isn’t a rule but it might help

I agree with all of the above , people need to be polite , friendly and helpful to fellow kinksters . As Dai said don’t be a d**k as being a d**k will just get you blocked or kicked out the chat room

For many of us finding fellow kinksters was a revelation and made us feel at home in this lifestyle, friends made for life, being a dick will not win you friends.

There is no reason to be a d**k as it achieves nothing for the recipients of the abuse or the dick !

Oh, and I’d be way more comfortable in a chatroom where there was no conversation about the spanking of actual minors, including peoples own stories.

I agree with all of the above - how about something like 'when in main chat room, be polite and respectful to others' in the main chat room

Will there be a moderator handily placed in the chat room at peak times just in case someone needs 'escorting !!' of the premises. I appreciate of course it's someone giving up their own valuable time but an unmoderated chatroom can occasionally turn a err....little disruptive if the past is anything to go by.

I agree with you all but even in private chat it needs to be respectful unless it is consensual by both parties respect is of utmost importance and definitely not talking about under age stuff
